How JTA Can Help

We conduct Audiometric Tests across Melbourne with our audiometric testing units. Regular audiometric testing should form a part of your overall health and safety program. At JTA, we have expert Audiometrists who are highly qualified and experienced in the correct audiometric testing process, according to the stipulations of AS/NZS 1269.4:2014 Occupational Noise Management – Auditory assessment.

An Audiometric Test Includes:

• Supply of a mobile audiometric testing booth and calibrated audiometer
• Audiometric testing of individual employees by a fully trained audiometric consultant
• Identification of necessary referrals for medical or audiological examinations
• Guidance on how to comply with future legislative requirements

You will receive an electronic Audiometric Test Report within 15 business days of the testing being completed. All reports can be personalised to suit specific needs. However, they generally include: 

• A company summary of employees' Audiometric test results 
• A list of the employees, as required by the Regulations, who are due to have follow-up audiological assessments
• General advice on Workplace Noise Management Plans, and how to comply with future legislative requirements 
• Copies of employee datagrams with individual results

All employee results will be retained by JTA, allowing back-up in the event that records are misplaced or destroyed.

Your Duty in Relation to Audiometric Testing

Under the Regulations 'persons conducting a business or undertaking’ (PCBU) must:

• Organise audiometric testing for all employees required to use personal hearing protectors at work where noise exceeds the maximum exposure standard
• Provide audiometric testing within three months of new employees commencing work that exposes them to a risk of occupational hearing loss
• Continue to offer follow-up audiometric tests at least every two years
